A place like no other

Where every detail makes the difference

In 2019, together with the architect Marco Micheli of the Comfort Architecten studio in Brunico, we began to devote ourselves to our passion project: the Santre dolomythic home.

Already in 2019 we were very clear that we needed to build a hotel that, for to its position and shape, would be unique and in perfect harmony with the surrounding environment. Here, inspired by the steeply sloping terrain at the foot of the Plose, we have created a structure on several terraced levels, thoughtfully integrated into the landscape. In doing so, we have also been able to preserve the wonderful panoramic view, opening onto the Dolomites and the splendid town of Bressanone, and present it to our guests.

Nature meets design

The covering of the structure is a textured plaster with a bark effect and a black glazed larch wood shingle facade.

Beyond the shingle facades are the common areas such as the reception, swimming pools and the wellness area.

Inside, are comfortable suites furnished with elegance and materials typical of the area. Each suite enjoys a spectacular view, both from the inside - thanks to the large windows - and from the front and sheltered balcony in natural larch wood.

Internal architecture

Stefan Ghetta from the Austrian architecture studio Hotel & Spa Archifaktur GmbH, located in Reith, in the Alpbachtal valley, was responsible for the interior design of the new Santre dolomythic home.

Genuine wood floors, Val Passiria gneiss rock, patinated brass, black steel, terrastone and sawn oak wood are just some of the materials chosen, in order to obtain a simple, functional space. A peaceful and relaxing environment for guests.

Materials

The lighting system and furnishings, exclusive and of exceptional quality, accentuate the singularity of the Santre. The use of products by Roche Bobois, Freifrau, Varaschin, Bocci, Vibia, Lodes, Bolia and Karman Italia offer a touch of class to the structure.

In addition, a large and colourful sofa at the reception area and the excellent combination of nuances in the bar and the wellness area creates a relaxed atmosphere.

Architecture, nature and hospitality in a single word? Santre.

The giant of Santre

A 15 m high work stands amid the rocks where our dolomythic home was built. The so-called "giant" of Santre, created by the Austrian artist Golif, is one-of-a-kind in the Alpine region, and enthrals for its inaccessible position and for the monumental isolation all around. From the glass elevator, you can only partially glimpse the painting; to admire it in its entirety, you can view illustrations in the structure.

A tree transformed into art

There was a large chestnut tree on our property, which we reluctantly had to cut down. Yet its legacy lives on in the hotel rooms: the Val Gardena artist Andreas Mayr Kondrak used the precious wood to create the table in the cellar, the chef's table at the restaurant buffet and a painting in the meeting room

454 days in three minutesHow our dream came true

Initially there was only a parcel of land, Next, sketches were drawn up. Between excavations and construction, the works proceeded meticulously, and our dream project took shape one day at a time. In the meantime, we did some filming for you… Enjoy!
